  1. What are the benefits of using a water methanol injection systems?

    Benefits include the following:

    • Increased octane rating by 8-20+ points
    • Lower air charge temperatures by 50-150+ degree's
    • Reduce cylinder temperatures by up to 250 degree's
    • Cools and protects the tops of your pistons and upper ring
    • Longer more stable combustion expansion and progression
    • Allows you to safely run more timing and boost
    • Safely increase horsepower by 5-15%
    • Reduces & helps stop engine damaging detonation & pre-ignition
    • Removes carbon build up from combustion chamber, pistons and valves
    • No need for expensive racing fuels or additives

  2. What type of horsepower gains can I expect?

With non-intercooled supercharged and turbocharged applications, gains of 12-15% are common when tuned for. Gains of 7-10% are common with intercooled applications.

  3. What type of temperature reductions can I expect from using a water methanol injection system?

Depending on the application (i.e. type supercharge, turbocharger, intercooler, level of boost, etc) and type fluid used (pure water, pure methanol or a mix), temperature reductions will vary between 50-150+ degree's. If you would like to know exactly what you type of temperature reductions you can expect with your application. Feel free to contact us directly and speak with a technician who can go over your application with you on the phone.

  4. What type of fluids can I use with my water methanol injection system?

You may use pure water, pure methanol or any mix of the two fluids. Other forms of alcohol such as ethanol, isopropanol, denatured alcohol, etc may also be used.

  5. Can I use 100% methanol or other forms of alcohol with my water methanol injection systems?
Yes, our systems are compatible with 100% alcohol.

  6. Can i use windshield washer fluid in my water methanol injection system?

Yes, you may use windshield washer fluid in your water methanol injection system. In fact, it's one of the most popular fluids used by customers due to it's low cost and convenience. When purchasing windshield washer fluid. Be sure to purchase -20 degree windshield washer as this is the preferred washer fluid to use. Depending on the brand the methanol content will vary between 30-35% methanol the rest water. Stay away from washer fluids which contain bug remover or other advertised cleaning agents listed on the label. A quick way to tell if the washer fluid contains detergents

  7. Can I use E85 in my water methanol injection system?
No, do not use E85 in your water methanol injection system as it will cause the pump to quickly fail. The pump is not compatible for use with petroleum products.

  8. What type of water methanol mixture should I use?

Depending on the application and the desired results or goal you are trying to achieve. Various mixtures are preferred.

    Carburetted applications:

    • Between 20-30% methanol the rest water is suggested
    • Do not exceed 50/50 water methanol
    • Methanol percentage are purposely limited so as not to dramatically impact air fuel. Thereby not requiring any fuel to have to be pulled out of the carburetor to compensate.
    • Atomization is of greater concern when working with large percentages of water as water does not flash off as quickly as does alcohol. Avoid using large nozzles
    EFI Applications:

    • Any mixture from pure water to pure methanol and mixes in between can be used
    • Pure methanol is allowed and works the best - computer tuning required

    Methanol:

    • Works better at lowering intake air charge temperatures then does EGT's
    • Since its a fuel and will burn as part of the combustion process - it can be sprayed in much large quantities then mixes containing large percentages of water
    • Works great as an octane enhancer
    Water:

    • Works well at reducing intake air charge temperatures but not as well as methanol
    • Works well at targeting and reducing EGT's then does methanol
